Piggott Range Syrah
Wine
Clarendon Hills Piggott Range Syrah is sourced from an elevated estate vineyard. The low yielding, dry grown vines were planted in 1965 and grow in rock with only two inches of soil on top.
The grapes are handpicked over several passes to ensure optimal fruit ripeness. Partial whole berries and whole bunches are wild yeast fermented in open vats with varying maceration periods.
The wine is matured for 18 months in 100 per cent new tight grained French oak. The finest barrels are hand selected. It is bottled onsite without fining or filtration.
Dark crimson, Clarendon Hills Piggott Range Syrah is concentrated with taut acidity and cascading layers of savoury character. Cellaring potential is 25 years.
